  • Color Change Issue in DS Pro + Lettering

I have an extra color change in a lettering design that I have not seen before. I only used 2 colors in the design. In the stitches tab it appears as shown at this address:

When I open the color selection in OS v9 I see an extra color at the end which is black. I did not use black in the design. In order to be sure I only used 2 colors I selected the same color for colors 2 and 3. It looks like there is a double color change in the design when looking at the stitches. I can't delete the extra color.

I don't know why the first of the double color change has a 2 after it. Can anyone explain this.

Open your design in DS>go to the very bottom of the tree & see if you have a color change at the end of the design>delete it>resave. If that doesn't work, I would just load it in OS>delete entire color sequence>click in correct colors>hit apply>hit ok> recheck colors>trace>start design.

I had a similar issue. I think if you just type in the normal color sequence and ignore all the extra colors, it should be fine. I think our design some how got corrupted and that's why the extra colors were in there. It was odd though because they wouldn't show up in DS, only when we sent it over to AMAYA OS. Weird. . .

There is not a color change at the bottom, I checked that first because it has happened before. The only way I found the problem was going down the entire stitches list until I found the problem after stitch # 12,336. These odd looking color changes can be seen at the first photo link in my original post. I did get around it by defining all 3 colors in OS as Gold, Green, Green which then makes the extra color match the 2nd color which will be skipped because of where these two color changes are located.

What I am hoping to find out is how to delete that extra color change. It does not show up in the project tree and I can't delete it from the stitches view. The two color changes being right together actually cause OS to just skip the 2nd color and go to the 3rd color because there are no stitches between the color changes. If I only define 2 colors in OS it goes back to color # 1 to stitch the part that should be green because I did not define color #3. I did not use black in the design at all but black shows up in OS.

I have occasionally had odd color sequences when stitching out designs before using V9. I thought I just did my colors wrong. I think I did not realize what was happening and that I had one (or more) extra color changes in the design because the designs all had a lot of colors. I am now checking more closely because I can't depend on what shows up in OS to be the same as what I just viewed in DS.

Thanks for all the suggestions but I already tried all of them before I posted my question.

I had a similar issue, mine was in beginning of the design(tree), had 2 reds then my other colors. above the tree, see where the expand (+) and collapse (-) buttons are?.. the next button to the right will combine the colors. that is if they are both same color, maybe combine them then change to the color you really want.
Im far from being experienced with all this, so my terms may not be correct. but thats how I was able to fix my color change issue.
