• Hi, I am new to the Embroidery industry, Just bought 2 Amaya XT

Hi,

I am a newbie to Embroidery. This is a very new thing to me and i have lots to learn. I would appreciate your guidance on what needles to stock up on and what is the most common threads used. I am currently studying more about it, but its a whole lot of information to take in. Mainly, my embroidery business would be with Polo shirts and basic types of embroidery. Any tips would help me stock up on the right supplies. Thanks and Have a great day.

Good sorces to start: Joyce Jagger, the embroidery coach. Embroidery Library also good.
The madeira.com sight has info on the needles and thread types to use with assorted fabrics.
Also tons of info here too,

start doing sew-outs and watch how they sew.

Good luck, enjoy, this is a fun business.

75/11-sharps for twill/caps, ballpoints for knit and "squishy" fabrics. Solvy helps on pique. These are my "workhorse" needles. Also in Amaya OS there is a chart under help>operator's manual>needles>choosing. Helps me when I have a "weird" garment to do- hope this helps you also.

I would start with trying to go to a Melco training if you can afford it so you can learn how to properly maintain the machines and how to do basic things with it.

Then I would get on Joyce's website which is www.embroiderytipsandmore.com as she has alot to offer from monthly webinars to 100+ videos on how to do things. She just came out with a book as well. She is a wealth of information...

Got to meet Joyce in person a few weeks ago after all these years of being a member on her site and she is really down to earth and loves to try and help all of us succeed in this business.

Good Luck!
