  • bolder stitch lines...

I am doing 72 shirts for a local medical corp-their logo has 'lettering' done with satin line stitch, about 3/8" high letters. Not as a font. Didn't look 'perfect' with jagged edges, and trying to increase pull comp or density doesn't work. Just as an experiment I grabbed a sample spool of #40 white, didn't change the needle-I think it's a 75.
Well...wonders never cease...it looks great! The thicker thread is just enough to 'fill the gaps' without blurring the lettering look. Didn't have to change my density or pull comp or anything. Had that set to the 'best I could get' with #60 thread and now it looks like it should. Thought I'd pass it on. Running at 1350 spm.
Also-I am doing this on teeshirts, short and long sleeve-with just 2 layers of 1.8 oz. soft tearaway! Didn't need the mesh this time!
BIG difference between the Big Red and the XT for this. Really shows the improvements.
