  • Bridal Tote Bag Design

Hello all. I ordered in some tote bags to embroider 'Bride' and 'Team Bride' on. (this is a personal project for a friend) The problem I have run into is the 22" hoop doesn't give me a big enough design and the totes are to small for the jacket back hoop. I have thought about just heat pressing them instead . I don't really want to have to tear the side seam out and then have someone re-sew them for me to embroider them. I do not have slim line clamps so that's not an option. Anyone have any suggestions for me? Rhinestoned heat transfers are too expensive for this project but I love the look of those. Please offer any insight you might have. Thanks so much.

There is a hoop that is called 30 X 16.5cm. The actual sew area, which is the only thing that counts!, is about 11 x 5.5 or 6". It has 4 arms so can be used for "wide" or "tall". It is a super handy, extremely useful hoop. I got mine at

In fact I am about to buy another one so I'll have 2.

        Julie,
I ordered that hoop a few minutes ago. I am excited since there are so many things I have not attempted to embroider because I didn't have a hoop like this. Thanks again. I appreciate your response.

I got my new hoop and am trying to figure out how to add this hoop to Design Shop. I know it has been addressed here but, I haven't been able to find the topic through the search feature. Anyone want to help me out?

Julie- If you are available, maybe you can tell me how you entered this hoop.
          Thanks everyone.

Kind of in the same line of thought-we were just up in Freeport Maine at the home LL Bean store...they have taken the basic, well known 'LL Bean Tote Bag' to a whole new level...entire room filled with variations and you can get custom embroidery done on the spot...we looked through a door and saw some sort of 'el basico cheapo' sewing machine set up-no sign of hoops, bars, clamps...more like a 'desk mounted' system, maybe 4 colors...didn't see moveable needle head or anything. But they have not gone to '25,000 stitch' designs-it's more like 500-600 stitch design repeated around the tote, your basic simple name drop, 3" area designs...but totes now go from little 6" 'lunch box tote' to oversize 'boat tote'...
we usually get totes from Sanmar to fill an order up to get free freight, then throw a company logo on one when we get a commercial order and give one to them-always results in orders for more.
Just a thought to all of you for ways to pick up business a little!
Deliver an order for a dozen polos or couple sweats in a free tote and customers remember it...

I have V9 and it is already there. Find a hoop that says it is 30 X 16.5cm and 16.5 X 30cm. I think it starts out Rect. You might have to change your "measurements" for hoops to cm.

My measurements were already in cm and it's not on my drop down list. I am nervous about adding all the info in myself but I guess I don't have any other choice. As always, thanks for all your help.

What version do you have exactly? And are we talking DS or OS? Actually, I think if you have DS V9 the OS should be V9 also, but I am not completely sure about that.
