Trims

I have recently switched digitizers. The present one is doing an excellent job. However, the trims are not happening. The former digitizer's trims always trimmed. However, this is not happening with the new digitizer. I am asking for the files in exp. I have an XT. I am still using version 7 in both DS and OS. I have spoken to the digitizer and am assured that the trims are in the file.

Any advice would be very much appreciated.

If his/her software can save the file in OFM format, you can edit and add trims in yourself.

Does exp have trims? I know the dst does not have trims and it might be the same for exp. Pes will have trims. And the very best is ofm format, but native, not converted!!!

I'm not at my computer, but jump count is the key to trims. Find out from your digitizer how many jumps = a trim in his/her file, then set OS to recognize a trim as = number of jumps in the embroidery file.

Go into your Amaya OS settings and change your "Jump stitches per trim" from the default of 3 to a 2 or a 1. This will incourage more trims when there are jump stitches.

Click on "Settings", and then in the "Settings" Tab, it's right in the middle of the window.

This could be a result in the settings in the length of your digitizer's jump stitches. If his/her jump stitches are longer than your previous digitizer, then you would have fewer jump stitches in any length of thread in the design and if the jump stitch quanitity doesn't meet or exceed 3, then they won't be converted into a trim by the Amaya OS software.

Give it a shot.

You can also double click on the "design" in the tree window, then go to lock and trim, then turn on the trim command by clicking on the trim box. You may have to adjust your setting to get the desired trims that you want.

By changing your settings in AOS, this will affect the trims on all designs that you sew.
