• Thread coming out at start

Hi everyone, I did a search but I do not think I am searching for the right thing. Anyway so I apologize in advance...

The thread in my machine is coming out when it firsts starts. Like it is not grabbing by the bobbin thread. I was having an issue with it yesterday on some small lettering but it was not consistant. Now today when I start on a regular name it is doing the same thing? Any tips on this?

Thank you! I still feel like a newbie 7 months in

The only time that I have run into this is when I put in the needle instead of my wife. After 3 years I finally found out that the groove goes in front and the dip in the needle goes in back, I think. Any way it sounds like your needle is in backwards.

      Liz,

What do you have your tail length set at? Do you have tie in checked? Is the thread coming out on the first one or two stitches or is it after the inching stitches? If your needle was in backwards your thread would be breaking. Set the tail length to long, and turn on tie in.
