  • Turn Arc Into Oval?

File this under - I should know how to do this but for the life of me and the migrane I have today, I can't remember how...

I have text on an arc which forms a complete circle (going arond a big jacket back design in the middle). I want that circle of text to be oval in shape, not perfectly circular.

Can someone give me the best way to make that happen.

Thank you. I will sacrifice one glass of small batch whisky on the rocks to my amaya in your honor tonite for helping.

I believe you can click on the circle and add an extra point, or find the top center point, and pull 'down' from the top to get your arc...
I have designshop open right now...first job in weeks...so give me a call if you want and we can walk through it.
If your lettering runs all the way around, and you want it 'right side up' on the bottom line-I do that as a second separate line, and in the arc 'specs' you can click on which way the letters read.
Hope I got this right...sometimes Mac graphics and PC graphics get mixed up in my brain...LOL

Open the lettering properties and change the baseline from "arc" to "custom". Then you can add straight or curve (right click/left click) points on the blue baseline and bend it as you please. I turn on the grid lines to help me visually balance the curve.

          Hey David:

Worked like a charm. I had forgotten that with the custom you could do that. It was a bit of a pain to get it oval-ly but it did work and the job got done.

Roland - didn't try your method - but when I have some time today I'll give it a shot.

          Thanks Guys!
