Short Sleeve/PoloI had someone tell me to put the logo just above the hem line at he bottom of the sleeve, but it just seemed too low.  Because of the size, 3.5 wide x 2.5 tall, I ended up sewing it about centered.  Thanks so much for the response!

        Trade Mark,
        No no...
Not the bottom of the sleeve.. The center of the sleeve. Halfway between the pit and shoulder seem. This will be consistent on every human. Just stick your arm all the way out and look in a mirror. Center of your arm lines up with your chest.
Of course remember, this is a starting point. Next consider the garment. For example, if the collar is too big, it might cover part of this area. You might need to move the logo or make it smaller. Or maybe not even do the job on this shirt from the '70s.

Yeah, thanks so much. I feel better about my customer picking up his shirts now. I actually did it right....didn't even know it. Thanks so much!

This is a great example for all of us to think about the customer when they place an order. Make sure you ask where THEY want the logo.

I've had some say on the bottom, some say centered, but most say "Wherever it looks good". I always tell them where it will be located before I sew. No surprises for the customer, especially on a large order. They need to know everything before they recieve the order.

Now, I personally like to put names and smaller designs towards the hem of the sleeve. Flags and rectangular logos, just above center of the sleeve closer to the shoulder, rounded and large logos centered on the sleeve. Smaller logos and names seem disproportionate in the center of a sleeve, so I place them towards the hem so they are bordered. Flags go towards the shoulder because it's disrespectful (in my opionion) to have them anywhere else. Smaller to medium rectangular designs go towards the shoulder again to border them. They appear more dominant if they are higher on the sleeve. Larger designs go centered so that they have a "presence" on the sleeve.

I use this as a general rule and tell the customer the same. Now they have 3 options to choose from if they aren't certain. Once you've done a couple hundred, you have a good feeling of where the logo looks best.

            Good luck.
