  • Need help with Seat belts

Hello, I am very new to embroidery and I need to embroider letters on a seat belt. Are there any special considerations I should be aware of? Thanks

I tried sewing the letters and I am getting a lot of thread breaks, some actual thread breaks, but most of the time the thread just comes out of the needle. I adjusted the presser foot, about 4 clicks from the bottom, and using a sharp 80/12 needle. Letters are .4" standard block script. Any suggestions?

I just use 80/12 sharp neetles and tearaway backing or no backing.
      You should have no problem.
Just make sure everything is centered good before hitting the start button.

        4" letters?
What do these seat belts go to?
Most seat belts (auto,I guessing) ) are around 2 inches wide
I don't have an Amaya but I spray my neetles and belts with silicone at times.
        I use density around 3.5.
Your problem could be the Amaya.
Maybe an Amaya user can help.

They are standard seat belts. The letters are .4 of an inch, not 4", sorry for the confusion.

I would increase the size to .75 or more.
For .4 I would use 4.5 or highter for the density.

              Sewfine:

Are you running on standard or auto tension? If standard try the auto and see if that helps..

              Good Luck!

Tina, like I said in my 2nd. post I don't have an Amaya so I don't have auto tension. I wish I had some amayas but my two new Amayas had to be canceled today due to medical problems.

On my EMC machines I would run the tension a little loose on something hard and thick like a seat belt.

Maybe an Amaya friend will jump in and give you some advice.

Thanks for all of the suggestions, but I am still having a lot of thread "breaks", mostly just the thread falling out of the needle and I have tried everything mentioned above. Could it be the digitizing? I am just using the standard font Block. I know a lot of people say they do not like the standard computer generated fonts, but I am new to digitizing as well. Thanks for the help.
