Lettering with outline

Is there a way to put an narrow satin stitch around letters? A customer has a logo they want sewn on shirts that has a plain block letter with an outline all the way around it and then a shadow. She isn't insisting on the shadow, but wants the outline. I'm not sure outline is the right word, but I don't know what else to call it. Can I use a block letter and add the outline somehow or will I have to digitize the whole logo?

In Design Shop lettering tab there is an option to add a border to the letter. I think it is on the right side about half way down. Once you create your lettering, assuming you are a using lettering style in design shop, then just click Auto Borders On and it will open a tab to choose different options.
