I have watched Herbs video but he does not tell you when closing the stap if the teeth on the frame should overlap the strap teeth pinching the cap between the frame teeth and the strap teeth, any help would be great

Joe, yes the teeth of the top strap must meet the teeth on the bottom of the hoop. this is what holds the cap like a clamp. Make sure you use enough backing that goes almost all the way around the cap. I use the 4inch roll of tearaway from melco. I measure a strip of about 14 inches for each cap. This keeps the cap from traveling while sewing.
