  • Thread Trimmer not working,

    Hello,
I am having problems with my trimmer on my Amaya XT, it won't cut the bobbin thread or top thread at all, just drags it to the next stitch, I have stitches out the trimmer test and it did not trim at all on any of the needeles, I have taken the Bobbin cover off and cleaned it and did the test in maintaince, if I change the type of trim to 2 it will stop and I will have to restart it and still won't trim. Also did the very large test that melco provide it stitches out beautifull by will not trim. Can anyone help me I have no idea how to fix it.
    Thanks,
    Barbara

    Barbara,

The first thing you need to do is take off the needle plate and see if the pushrod wires are connected to the knife and/or selector. Sometimes we see the pushrod wire, for the knife, has slipped out of the little hole it sticks into to push/pull the knife back and forth. If it is, reconnect it. In rare cases this pushrod may be broken. Either of these conditions can be caused because of debris and/or lack of lubrication in the trimmer area.

Also with the needle plate off, go into "Maintenance", "Steppers" and in the "Cutter" and "Selector" columns, click on the "OUT" and "IN" tabs to see if the knife and/or selector is operating properly.
