  • patches - Has anyone got ideas how to

I have a client wanting 3.5" to 4" round and 10"x3" patched with velcro attach. 100 each of the round and "only" 20 of the larger one.
Any one experienced in making patches? do I sew on canvas type fabric, cut and apply velco? Or ready made blanks attaching the velcro after sewing? I am running a (big red) I refer to as "Gracie"

    Gabi:

That many patches I would look at contracting them out. I used Luke with www.QualityEmbroideredPatches.com he was awesome to deal with. He will do small quantites as well of course you pay more but he can do them if needed.
If you still want to do them yourself then I would look at Joyces site at www.embroiderytipsandmore.com or John has a link in the Marketplace section of this site that will take you directly there as well. She has some great how to videos that every newcomer should check out as they really help with the learning curve!

    Good Luck!

Thank you, I have recommended the site to my client as he was jobbing to me for his client, I also just found Jane's site yesterday and will be signing up. I've had my Amaya since June '05. Have learned all on my own as wasn't able to travel for the "training". Though I'm a graphic designer since the lead type, ownen a Silkscreen full color digital printing shop in SW FL for 15 years, adding the in-house embroidery the last year. Had to close the shop, due to my husbands health. He passed away in '07. I'm now getting back to business, with embroidery as my primary, digital printing secondary & no silkscreening.
      Not that you asked.
Again thank you for your insight.

Glad I could help if you want to do some training now, we have put together an Amaya Users Cruise in February you can find all the information on this board as we still have a few cabins left.

        Good Luck!
