  • What do you call this kind of shirt

I am looking for a shirt, actually a work shirt, where the buttons are covered over with a placket so that when they lean against a car, they don't scratch the paint. If I knew what that style was, then maybe I could google it. And if anyone actually knows who carrieds such a shirt, I really like to know.

First place I would look is VF Imagewear for their Red Kap line. They actually have a full line of Dealer logod shirts like Toyota, Acura etc and also have generics. Not sure on the buttons but since they cater to the auto mechanic industry I would think they have something like that.

If you don't see what you are looking for at Red Kap you might call them. I have had them add length to tall shirts and make belt loops bigger for firefighter belts so they do custome stuff as well. Always worth a try.

I know police uniforms have zippers but they are covered up to look like buttons. I think this is so criminals don't try to grab and tear their shirts off so easy. Kinda the same concept but different so wondering if any of the police uniform supply people might have something?

Whth one of the answers I got, I have figured out that what that is called is a "concealed" buttons. With that magic name I have found what I am looking for - not the price, mind you, but the item. Just need to do a little more research.

        Thanks guys,
