  • Small Letter

I doing some small letter on shirt sleeves of polo
shirts. .35 and .3 I'm using a 75/11 needle, 1 piece of cutaway and topping.

I'm getting lots of thread shredding and thread breaks.

Please tell me what you do for small lettering!

At the min, use a #10 needle. At best use a #9 needle and 60 Wt thread. No underlay and perhaps decrease the density (use a larger number).

A 70 needle would be better; better yet would be 60 wt thread (Madeira) and a 69 or 70 needle. But the real problem could be too many stitches in your lettering.

Specifically what font(s) are you having trouble with....pre-digitized or True types or both....cursive, block??????

Font is the reason most small lettering does not look right. Make sure you are using the correct font for small lettering.
