Does anyone know if there is any way to use the keypad to do a head down and head up. I'm trying to line something up and it is a pain to back and forth to the computer each time to see where the needle falls.
Yes, in OS, go into "Maintenance", "Head Timing" .While in this screen the keypad on the machine is assigned some new functions. By using the Adjustment(Hammer)key and the Up and or Down arrows together, it will place the needle at bottom center or head-up positioning...
OK, ok, here is a trick I use, ....As far as lining up goes....I pull the thread out of the needle, go into "Settings" and disable "All Thread Protection", run my speed as low as it will go, "Raise" the "Pinch Lever Arm" so that no thread is fed during running....
Now find a vertical column in the design and move the laser to one edge of the column and hit the start button. Watch the needle strikes, you will be able to see exactly where they strikes in relation to the vertical column. Keep jogging the hoop until you get the needle strikes on the column perfect. Now, do the same thing in relation to a horizontal column. You have now found the correct registration for your design.
Use Settings and Move tabs to help in finding the Color or actual Stitch position where you want to be in your design and use the Jog Forward and/or Jog Backward keys to fine tune your position. Rethread the needle, put down your pinch lever, re-enable the "All Thread Protection", kick your speed back up where you want it and ---there ya go......back in business.....takes longer to describe it than do it.....
