  • Sample Sew Out

I have one machine doing flats and one doing hats. I do not want to re-thread the flat machine with the logo for the caps in order to sew out a sample before doing the hats. Is there any clever way to sew a sample on something like backing, hooped like a hat so I can do this???
    Thank you

      Hi Jo,
I have some hats that been sewn with the wrong color or some other error and I cut the bill of so that I just have the crown. I can re-hoop that hat 2 more times on the sides in the hat frame in order to sew out samples.

Just so I understand...Juli, are you saying that you just hoop some cap backing and sew a sample on that? Not trying to sound ignorant, just still learning and have gone through so many practice hats I have lost count.

I have some duck cloth that I use. So, one piece (or 2 if you want) cap backing and duck cloth or something heavy and canvas like. Just hoop like you would a cap. I works fine.

Perfect. Thanks, Juli. That will save me tons of money in useless practice caps.
