  • stock design fill tension

I've sewn out a several large stock designs and most of them are stiff (fills) when complete, with a little bit of puckering. I'm assuming the tension is oh so slightly too tight or the design was digitized too densely. No bobbin pulling to the top. I'm using actifeed...and changed the bottom limit to 3, did notice a little less puckering.

Where would you experienced folks recommend I start? Editing the density in the design itself?

This is true on all needles, all fabric types, any stabilizer. It's a 2007 Amaya XT, DS 7.00.112, vista.

You might be able to take the bottom limit up another 1 or 2 to help but I would definitely look at the density in the design. Most stock designs are made too dense in the first place. I reduce the density on fills in stock designs (especiuallly Dakota) about 15-20% right off whenever I use stock designs
