Backing for Denim Jackets

Need advise on what type and weight of backing to use on Denim jackets. Thanks

We've done a lot of denim jackets and at the most I use a 3 oz soft cutaway. Heavyweight 'barn jackets' get no backing unless the jacket isn't lined and might shift around.
Denim shirts-1 1/2 oz. tearway.
