I used rayon for a long time, using up my home embroidery thread on the commercial machine. For the older Amaya, I set it at a thread feed of six for sewing on denim or quilted material, and maximum speed of 1,000. Good stabilizing is a must also. For the XT, be certain to select "rayon" as the thread type in settings, stabilize the daylights out of your hooped item, and use manual thread feed. You'll have to play with it more to get it to run without breaks; somewhere between two and six, and if the design is layered, the further into sewing it out you get and the more layers you get, the more you'll have to increase your thread feed. Good luck

Slow your speeds down. Rayon was not designed for the speed of our Amayas. It can sew well on the other brands of machines who sew between 500 to 800 stitches per minute. Slow down and then bump up the speed until you start to get breaks then back off---find the comfortable speed and stay there.
