  • Returning to Origin

I am at the end of a design and putting in the name (part of original design) when I realized it is the wrong name. So, I took out the stitches, went back to the original design and changed the name. Now, my problem is that I moved the hoop off the default center to accommodate my slightly off hooping. I am still on my original wrong design with the new design waiting in the wings.

What is the procedure to start the new longer name in the correct place? What I think I have to do is "return to origin" now in the old design, so I will be exactly where I started. At this point load the new design and then I need to "move" to the last color which is the name. This should put the needle in the right place. Is this procedure correct? Will this really get me to the correct position?

When I load the new design, I have to first "reset" the old design. Immediately before I load the new design, the hoop must be centered exactly like it was for the first attempt and remember, that was off center but I just don't know the numbers.

You are on the right track. Follow your steps and you should have no problems.

How, exactly, do I "return to origin". Because I don't see an icon for that. Do I just "move" to 0,0?

Nope. That will cause you to say bad Hawaiian curse words. On the OS tool bar there is a cross with an arrow. This is the "return to origin" button. This places the hoop at the "origin" for the design loaded into the machine.

Herb, Fortunately I saw your post before I messed it up. Hate doing that. My design is complete and came out perfect. Found the icon right there in front of me. Just not one that I am using very much. But now that I know about it, I'll probably have occasion to use it more. Customer doesn't need to know that Murphy lives at my house!
