I've been asked to embroider team logos on the backs of the folding sports type chairs that you get at Walmart etc...

Any hints on what works best? Needle size, density etc. The logo is big, so I had to use my large square hoop, which was a challenge.

Does anyone have a good wholesale source for these types of chairs?

Thanks for your help. I'm so glad I found this forum...it has been wonderful!

What type of quantity do you need? I have several catalogs of ASI/UPIC suppliers with the folding chairs, and the backs detach for embroidery or screenprinting, or you just buy them predone. But honestly, you might find the chairs at Wallyworld or Dick's Sporting, etc. CHEAPER, but maybe not the quantity per color you need.
Remember to tell them-the embroidery in reverse will show on the back...unless they want to pay for sewing a blank fabric over it to hide it...

I am doing these for coaches gifts. I will be needing 8 right now. Thanks for the tips! What vendors do you have that sell these?

None of the vendors I have will sell quantities that low...25 or more piece minimum. I"ve checked...
the only one we found that would, gets an outrageous amount for them.
Just 8...you should be able to find that quantity in one color at Walmart or Kmart-it's the season for it.
With luck you'll find the ones that are 'screwed' together, not riveted. You need to take the back seat panel off.
        Good luck!

Yes, I practiced on 2 of our own chairs! They turned out well...

How do you sew material over the back to cover the stitching? They don't mind, but in case someone else asks.

          Thanks for your help!

I get my chairs from S and S activewear that I embroider and I always sew a blank pocket over the back, also you can buy as little as 1 chair.
