Am I the last one to figure out how to label the dark colored spools on top?

I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer. When my thread came on dark colored spools, I'd store it upside down so I could find the color number I wanted. With the white cones I'd write the number using a sharpie marker on the top of the cone. It took me until now to figure out to write the color number on a mailing label, trim it down to size and put it around the top of the cone. (sigh) There are days I wonder if my parents left out the brain option when they were assembling me!
