  • Cap warning - needle breaks

Good day to all. I read the postings on the needle break issue that someone was having and I have to offer a warning about sewing KC caps. Do not purchase these caps for this exact reason. I have sewn a tremendous number of caps but never have I broke over 12 needles, 75/11 and 80/12 sharps on 8 caps before. The way the center seam is constructed is terrible. I have never had this much trouble with caps before. It did not matter what I tried, even changing the way the design sewed out did not help.

    So embroiderer beware.

    Hi Cindy,

Which style KC Caps are you working with?
I have sewn the 3020 NU FIT 100's of times with no issues regarding the center seam.
The NU FIT style are a bit tricky to hoop, due to their construction, but that really would be my only complaint.

Again, my ONLY experience with KC is that one style though.

the KC cap style number is 6210. I sewed two of the 6090 unstructered style with no issues but with the structured style I went through more than one pack of needles for 6 hats.
