Need advice as how to do quilt borders with text going around the quilt. How do you stop your text and pick it up in the next hoop??
    Thank you.

I'll suggest how I would do it...
each 'block'of text that fits our hoop would be done as a separate file...in Design shop you can view the hoop and know where to 'break' the text. I would have one large image as my 'master' and then duplicate it-delete text past your hoop limit. Then save that as 'quilt 1' for example. Then duplicate your original again, slide the text to the right to fit into the hoop limit again-and delete left and right text to leave just 'quilt 2' text, save it...duplicate original again, move for 'quilt 3' and delete excess...does it make sense?
That's how I setup for oversize vinyl and digital printing. You are creating your own 'tiling' for the image.
On your material (are you sewing individual panel cutouts or the finished quilt?) I'd mark with tailor chalk a straight line-and hoop that-with the line parallel with your hoop. Mark your hoop (use masking tape inside the top edges) with a pen-and then line up every 'square' to the same marked points on the hoop. Every 'section' should then sew on the same line.

This gives you the horizontal line-up but I also measure from the center of the last and first letters so I can also line them up vertically.

Thank you both! You have given me inspiration. I was just in an allergy fog (dust blowing all week)and couldn't think.

Now if you have the speedframe clamp system, you can flip your lettering over so that the 'bottom' of each square is up at the top-less excess material to tuck in past the frame...mark your top clamp with masking tape and make your register marks there for the chalk line you made. This frame would work great if all the squares for each side edge were sewn together for you.
I have never done a quilt so I don't know what sequence they are sewn together...but that's what my brain is coming up with!

Roland, I have the clamping system, but don't like the sizes for this. I have four long strips of material that will make the border of the quilt. The quote will have to be spaced to go all the way around the quilt, so I am sewing the parts that fit into my 17X11 hoop on backing and marking where the center of each one should go. I will hoop my sticky backing with grid and tear-away under that. Let you know if it works.
              Thanks!
