Digitized logo format

What format should I get a logo digitized? exp or ofm? Reason I am asking when I attended class the instructor advised us to purchase exp format. When I save to ofm the design tends to lose registration and does not sew out properly.

I experienced for as well. My problem was that my autoactifeed lower limit was set at 1 and should have been at least 3. You may have to play with your settings in that tab to get a better registration.

I will do do my test sew out, the design will be perfect, then I save in DS as ofm and I can actually see the design being altered, do another sew out and the design is now messed up?????? Driving me nuts!

There is a difference in what you see as software native files ,and in what you see as the output machine files. Machines files have very low level info, so, eg if save in your main software format, you see everything looks just dandy, and tweaked etc exactly as you did it onscreen. The differences come in in the translation to the Machine files eg. cnd. etc..Some find these differences confusing to work with. EXP files hold information ok, and look nicer. One reason that many prefer the simple DST files is that they are generally less of a problem to work with.

People find it irritating,and a bit mind boggling to figure out why their minor tweaks etc that they perform in native software, doesn't really seem to have an exact result in the embroidery file. Most perform edits in high zoom factors and find almost no change in the output files.

In general,melco files can prove to be problematic to edit, to get very successful machine results , and what you see as the design visibly changing , is because of the low level information held by the machine file.
