Hooping System

We are new to the embroidery business and just purchased 2 Amaya XT machines. We are looking at hooping systems and we don't know which one might be easier for beginners to use. We have seen the All in one and the Hoopmaster. Any help and information would be greatly appreciated.

Personal opinion, the All in one is awsome. It's what they use at Melco in Denver when I went to do my classes there.

I have them both and utilize the Hoopmaster by far the most! I did get the All in One first and kicked myself for it a couple months later when I was able to use the Hoopmaster at a Emb. class/workshop.

Here's my posts from last november...look it over and compare. If you call Sal (the owner) there might be other sale promotions running. The extra CD's of logos he sent us with the whole setup have come in real handy-used one this week!
Now to be honest I have never seen the hoopmaster so I cannot compare-the All In One is what was recommended we get in training and I have chatted with several others that have it. There must be some differences between the two systems that favor one method over another because it seems to be general consesus that everyone prefers one or the other-no one likes both!

We bought the All in One Hooper as a 'complete' package-and paid less than $650 I believe-and also got several Cd's of digitized artwork and stuff.
I haven't seen anything that we would need to purchase 'extra' since this came with all the add-ons for sleeves, kid to oversize shirts, etc.
I have not tried a heavy work jacket on it but nylon (Sanmar Challenger, etc.) gave me no problem.

Go to Hoopmaster.com and you can click on several videos and watch the hoopmaster in use. When Roland purchased the All in One Hooper because his trainer suggested it, that is what Melco carried. There may have been other reasons--I don't know. Melco now carries the Hoopmaster as well. If Susan Reidlinger is out there, Susan, share your experience--she did the same thing and after disappointment and frustration, she purchased a Hoopmaster and is very happy with it. We have the Hoopmaster and wouldn't trade it for any other system. Sharon

When I bought mine, Melco was selling both of them...I had checked when we got back from training and ordered one...both types were out of stock. Every time I checked...out of stock. Finally got an email 'flyer' from Sal and his company and just ordered it right from them.
I do a lot of 'XXl, XXXL, and XXXXL' polos and it is great for that-and the limo jackets I do once a year now come out perfectly aligned. Used to be or or two slightly off kilter trying to just do a hoop on the counter. The clips for holding the backing in place really speed things up.
But like I said-I've never seen the other type in use.

experience I can tell you the HoopMaster is by far
superior to the All-In-One. I started with the
All-In-One and never could get it to work to my
satisfaction. I ended up getting a HoopMaster and the
very first time I used it, I knew right away it was
built better than the All-In-One. The magnet setup on
it is much nicer, the hoop locks into place so that
there is no movement during hooping, & the outer hoop
gets pushed all the way in to meet the other hoop--the
All-in-One does none of these things. I marvel at the
difference everytime I use it!!

I just have the 15cm setup. However, I now feel
the added cost of adding other fixtures is justified
by its usefulness and I will be adding other fixtures
as my business grows.

Susan, when was it you got the All in One?
Mine is only a year + old, and they have dropped the magnets and gone to clips-work great!
The bottom hoop is held in place top and bottom by a 'cradle' system and I've never had it move. I was afraid I'd snap the whole thing in half when I used it-I tend to go overboard pushing things together and I always use my hoops real tight. Clamped it onto a rolling cabinet for a worksurface, and I can push the cabinet all around but the All In One takes my monster hand pressure with no problem. The 'wings' and sleeve attachements built in are great-I have only used the oversize wings a couple times and have never done sleeves so I can't say anything about those.
But it has saved us a ton of time and waste. I get it all set up for spacing, etc. and then my wife takes over for production runs. She used to have to wait for me to manually hoop everything on a counter or using my screenprinter pallets...now she can just work without me.

I purchased my All-in-One Hooper 2 years ago. The plastic part that held the inner hoop only had knobs that just held the hoop in place. The hoop basically was just held in place by the knobs, not "locked in". The knobs were not even that high. I constantly would have the inner hoop twist right over the knobs. Maybe they have improved the All-in-One but like I said before, the first time I used the HoopMaster I was very impressed by its quality. And a year after purchasing the HoopMaster, I still think what a great investment it is!

In my opinion, you can't go wrong with the HoopMaster. It is a bigger investment, but well worth the added money--and I am still a small business. I have never heard anyone who owns a HoopMaster complain about how it works but I have heard complaints about the All-in_One.

Hmmmm, just went and looked at mine...there are 2 moveable 'jaws' that the bottom hoop sits in-the hoop isn't near the 'ball' knobs. Once the backing is under the clamps, it keeps the bottom hoop in place. Then the shirt is pulled down over it-and you can feel where the knobs are to guide the top hoop in place. I just grab one side of the hoop and wrap my fingers around the edge of the whole assembly so I can squeeze it right down with my whole hand and the other hand pushes down and guides the rest of the hoop in place. I know when we got it the directions were for the magnet holding part and Sal called me to explain they had just upgraded the wholething and hadn't gotten to the instructions yet. Walked me through it over the phone and away we went.
I guess if you have the chance to see both demo'd at a show it would be worth it to see the differences between them in use.

I use to like the all in one hooper before i upgraded it. They replaced the magnetic flaps that hold the backing on with sort of clamps that tear the backing off when its time to remove the hoop.
So if you can find an older all in one hooper go for it, if not i strongly suggest hoop master. I find The hoop master is more user friendly and harder to mess up a shirt. but its all in personal preference.

If anyone is interested in an All-in-One Hooper, I will be selling mine shortly. It is about 1 1/2 years old and has the magnetic backing holder. In perfect shape.

We bought both the All-in-One and the Hoopmaster and I find each has its benefits but I don't need both as I am beginning to run out of room on my tables. Since I have a larger investment in the Hoopmaster, I will be keeping that one. I will post this in the marketplace as well since I may be violating some procedure here but I wanted to keep it with this thread.

When I went for training in Denver the instructor was demonstrating the All In One and had trouble himself (it had the clips for the stabilizer). He just said it takes practice and that he doesn't use it very often to do it well. Then after reading many posts and watching the videos on both, I decided to buy the Hoop Master. The first time I hooped something (a pique polo), it turned out perfect!!! It was so easy to use and like Susan said, everything locks in place and lines up so easily.

Yes it may cost more initially, but in the long run it will save you time when hooping a large order. And time is money!!!
