Using the Fonts in Design Shop

I am trying to sew a name and number using the Athletic Block font (0.5 inch height) in Design Shop on to a baby onesie and I can not seem to adjust it enough to get a nice solid, clean stitch.

I've made several adj. to the column width, density, etc... and each time it still sews out looking bad.

Any suggestions or tips?

What speed are you sewing at?? small letters really like to be sewn slow 600to 700 spm seems to be the speed were I think the quality of the letters realy look sharp.Also try the underlay with or without.I am sure others with more spernce will chime in and help as well.
