  • OS bombing

Today I finally reput in the Durkee 6 x 12 and the Durkee 12 x 6 hoops. I had them already in, but lost them when I upgraded. Didn't like that at all!!

I got them both in and then tried them out. Big mistake. However, I did see that with the 12 x 6 hoop, I had made one input error, and the 6 x 12 looked good. BUT the program (OS) said it was closing because of a problem, Sorry. I get that message every time I try to load the OS.

I am wondering --- I can go into the Hoops database, but I have a newer version of Access than it was created in. I see exactly where my one imput error is but can't change it because of the difference in versions of Access. But it tells me I can convert the file to my newer version. I am not entirely sure that I can actually do that, but do you think that if I was successful that OS could use that converted file?

As an alternative --- There is the same (It looks the same) hoop data base in Design Shop. I could copy the file over to the OS.

I am dead in the water here and was hoping to get some work done this weekend. And BTW, this is my karma - Things happen on weekends, 3 day holidays, Xmas holidays, etc. Must be paying for bad deeds in a former life!

    Any advice would be appreciated.

Since nobody had a suggestion for me, I over-wrote the Hoop file with the one from DS. Seemed to be the same so I just did it. Of course, I saved the original file to a different name -just in case. But everything is back to normal. And I re input, for the 3rd time, the 32 points for the two hoops. Fortunately, I didn't have to figure that out by myself. Someone on this list kindly posted it and I do thank you very much.

Today I also decided to make my On Hand list of all my threads. I am still in the process of doing that because the Marathon threads don't have color names - just numbers. So I am naming them myself. So much easier to figure out what color I want when it has a name!

    So things are progressing nicely.
