  • Patch Question

    Hello
Has anyone tried to do patches on their AMAYA XT? Is it possible? Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks

I sure hope so because I am bidding on a job that is a set of 4 patches, 3 of which are 11" wide.

Hi Peter. I do a lot of patches. I use the applique method.

First, hoop the fabric and stabilizer you are going to use for the patches. I usually use a BIG hoop and get as many into it as I can. Do an outline stitch on this in the shape of the patch.

      Remove. Cut along the stitching.

Hoop a layer of really good stabilizer. For this I use a hoop size that holds one patch only.

Do an outline stitch of the shape of the patch.

      Remove hoop.

Sticky spray the stabilizer in the hoop.

      Press on a cut-out of fabric/stabilizer.

Press button and let the patch be made!

In digitizing the design, I make certain it does the outline and border first. For the satin stitch on the border, I go into the properties menu and change the understitching to a density of 25. It eliminates the curling on the edges.

      HTH,
      Judy
