    Hello,
I'm trying to do some caps with the Dakota pool shark design. After it sewed out, the outline did not match up with the design. Pretty sure it isn't the machine's fault, so what did or didn't I do ?
As always, I'm thankful for all the information on these boards !

    Christy,

This is a pretty complex design and Dakota designs are know for not lining up on outlines. Which outline is not lining up or is it all of them? The first thing I would do is change the stitch length on the walk stitches from 38pt (dakota default on most designs) to 15-20 pts (Id go 15 on this one cause its fairly small and detailes). 2nd thing is in the scale menu under fill density change the 100% to 115-125% and apply. Once you apply it will go back to 100% but it would have reduced the fill stitches in the design by 15-25%. Dakota designs tend to have too heavy of fill stitches. ANother thing is to co to select the entire design and go to the properties and under the column tab change the Column width/Pull comp to 120 and make sure the min stitch length is 8-10. This should help the design and if your outlines are still off then you will need to manually edit the outlines to put them in the right spot.

ALso, make sure you are hooping the cap nice and tight so there is no movement while you are sewing.
