  • Meistergram format??

Does anyone know what format meistergram machines use? Am I going to be able to open and convert it with my DS?
    Thanks...

LuAnn, No, you cannot do anything with a Meistergram design except sew it on the Meistergram. You will have to redigitize it for the Amaya. Meistergram is only a zigzag stitch. They do wonderful columns, but cannot do a single line or bean stitch in one single straight line. There are no Dakota, Great Notions or OESD designs for the Meistergram because they are so different. So, the software that they have for the Meistergram is proprietarial - no one can read it to convert to something else.

That explains why all of the embroidery from that shop looks the way it does.
Every time a new customer to me brings in an item that they want duplicated, I struggle to make the fills look the same. I can get close, but have never been able to exactly duplicate the look of the stitches.
Do you have any secrets to duplicating the "look"?
It appears to all be columns that vary in width. It really does not look like any other embroidery that customers have brought in.
      Thanks for the info!

LuAnn, The way the Meistergram digitizing works is: Normal density for programming on their software was 16. So, for columns that create a fill, you would do one column down at 8 and half the width of all the other columns. The 2nd column would completly cover the first but be twice the width at 8 density. Next column would overlap the 2nd column by half with the same 8 density. You would contine in this manner, always covering half the other column so that where they overlap will be full density. When you are ready to finish. You do a half size column that covers the last column you did that only had half density. It was a VERY laborious process.
Why would you want to duplicate that look? I have loved the fill patterns that we get with the Amaya and the digitizing is way way easier.

          Barbara,

The customers that are coming to me have been geeting their items done by someone else that has been in business for 15 years. She is not able to keep up with her orders at this and has asked me if I would be interested in helping her.
I am more than happy to help her out. I just want her customers to be as happy with the work coming out of my store.
She is very sweet and we share many of the same views. I so much enjoyed meeting her and spending time talking to her.
Thank you so much for the help with being able to digitize in the same manner.

You are so right about the fill patterns with the Amaya. And, yes, it much easier to digitize with our software.

It makes me respect her work all the more!

Thanks again! I'll let you know how I make out with the duplicating process.
