  • Damage Waivers

Hello All! I am still a relative newcomer to the embroidery business. We have begun having requests to custom embroider apparel that is provided by the customer. I was told by our trainer that a damage waiver is a must. Does anyone know of a source that I could use as a guide, or would anyone be willing to share a generic copy of one that you use?

Any chance we can post it on the website? Be nice to have under our resources a list of "generic docs".

This isn't a source for damage waivers, but it is a great work order form that I found a while back. Hope this helps someone.

We have this sign posted in our shop:
              IMPORTANT NOTICE
OUR BUSINESS IS SELLING AND EMBROIDERING GARMENTS. WE ARE HAPPY TO EMBROIDER CUSTOMER-
SUPPLIED GARMENTS BUT WE CANNOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ACCIDENTAL DAMAGE TO SAID GARMENTS. EMBROIDERY MACHINES CAN BE VERY FICKLE AND SOMETIMES “EAT” GARMENTS. IF WE HAVE SUPPLIED THE GARMENT, WE WILL REPLACE IT, BUT WE CANNOT REPLACE GARMENTS WE HAVE NOT SOLD. THANK YOU FOR YOUR UNDERSTANDING. TJ’S DESIGNS

IN OTHER WORDS, WOULD YOU TAKE YOUR OWN STEAK TO A RESTAURANT, ASK THEM TO COOK AND SERVE IT AND THEN SEND IT BACK BECAUSE YOU DIDN’T LIKE IT?

John, I am not sure how to post our disclaimer--looked at your email address and didn't see a way to send an attachment. Is there an email address I can send it to?

We'll be posting them to the site - Sharon is going to email me and then I will upload and let you all know when they are there.

Likewise, if anyone else has standard docs they would care to share to the community, please email them to me and I'll post them as well.

In addition to the damage waiver, we could use a permission form to use copywritten logos for schools, franchises etc.

Thanks for all the great questions and replys.

Were these documents posted on the site somewhere?
I'm new around here and not seeing them anywhere?
I'm really enjoying the site and learning a lot, as I read many of the older threads here.
You guys are a great group!
