  • Small Lettering

I am wondering if anyone can give me some advice on how to make small lettering look crisp.
I am using Oesco in a .20 on broadcloth but it's not turning out.

    Thanks so much!

Hi there. I can't find my alphabet book, so I don't remember how small that font can be made without it starting to lose integrity. For small lettering I use 60 wt. thread and a #9 needle. The difference is amazing.

You might try an edge walk underlay at 90% width and 10 pts. Sometimes this will help you get nice crisp edges and sometimes if the lettering is too small the underlay will show which won't work. Worth a try. ANother option is to run an underlay in zig zag at 90% and 10 density and then set your regular density to around 6. The 2 lighter density stitches will form together to be nice stitches.
