How would I go about embroidering mesh bags, like the ones seen here?

I recently did a blanket with holes. I sandwitched the blanket with tear away on both sides and stitched it out. Floriani has a backing (I don't know the name) which can be used to do this kind of work. Since I only do it once in a while, I have not bought the backing yet.
