    Hi again,
I also wanted to mention that I've been using ARC thread for some time and I just switched to Robison-Anton.

I cannot believe the difference it has made. Hardly ever get a thread break, no more shredding thread. Pretty amazing.

It was definitely pricier but I think it is worth it.

How much are you paying for R/A? How much was the ARC? I have been using R/A for years (along with some Arc, Madiera, Issacord, and Rheingold) but my main thread is RA and it has been $6.50 a spool unless you buy 12 of the same color (which I do with many colors) and then it is $5.50. Just received notice the prices of RA are going up in March I think it is.

I have switched to Marathon thread. I pay 4.50 per 5000m cone. I also have R/A and Marathon is definately shinnier R/A. I only use Poly now.

I did my own little test on thread. I took a rayon thread and using my hands only pulled on it until it snapped. Did the same on a poly thread. Try it - you'll be amazed at the difference. No wonder why rayon doesn't work so well on our high speed machines. I think it is OK at lower speeds, but who wants to go slow when you can go fast!!?

And I ordered one sm spool ea of silver and gold metallic. At the same time I got big eye needles. I have this design that I am doing for my husband's school reunion that uses a ton of each. I ran that design, 30,000 stitches, without one thread break. Probably 10 or 12 thousand stitches are in the metallics. So, I'd say that the Marathon metallics are very good too. And Marathon also has variegated in the lg cones. Try and find that elsewhere!

And they also have the very best price on some of the stabilizers that I have found anywhere! By about 50%! So, I am sticking with Marathon, even though it has to come 5000 miles to get to me. Aah! the price of living in Paradise!

Looks like we are going to have another incredably beautiful Hawaiian day!
