  • different size hoops?

Anyone know of hoops for the Amaya that are larger than the 7" round (approx.) and smaller than the 11 x 17 wood?
I'm running a design now- 8" x 8", and it is wasting so much backing to use the 11 x 17, plus very hard to get the sweatshirt hooped taut without stretching. A plastic (or wood) hoop maybe 10 x 10 would be perfect, and for 'names' across a shirt back, or long narrow logo, an 8" x 12" or 14" would be great.
Is there anything available with the setup profiles that will work?

I'm having the same problem. I called Melco 2 days ago and ordered the 22cm which I think they said was 8.25 inch round. In square the largest is 7.5 inch. I wish there was a 9 or 10 inch square or round. Don't know if the 8.25 (22cm) would fit your design or not but if it will they have one.

I bought the 22 cm hoops a few months back. like all the other round hoops, there is a large amount of unusable space near the hoop edges. I have slightly increased this by taking off the hoop limits, but PROCEED WITH CAUTION. This might get you about 0.2 more inches each way but not much more. I use the 7.5 inch square hoop but agree that a 10 inch square would help the most.

Look at Durkee www.dehoops.com They have square and rectanglular hoops that work well for mid size designs. You can set them up in the Hoop Manager. I have the specs for the 6x12, 12x12 and soon 9x9.

It would seem that the best benefit of a round hoop is that you do not have to "line-up" the inside hoop. You just put it close enough to the center. It is then pretty easy to align the top without worry for the bottom. If you use a square hoop, you will need to align the inside and outside hoops.
          Thanks,
