  • Arc 1000m spool coasters

    Hi,

Anyone find a better way to keep the small ARC thread spools from wrapping around the bottom of the spool, and then causing a tread break?

We are using the paper Melco coasters and that helps but does not get rid of the problem 100%.

    Thanks,
    Steve

I had the same problem with my pacesetter thread that came with my PR-600. I put the netting/stocking on the smaller ARC thread and it keeps it from causing thread breaks. These keep the thread from falling below the spool and getting caught on the edge.

    Hope that helped you.

we tried the stockings...and cut them too small I guess, the thread pulled it right off and wound up in it! But they are handy to keep the thread neat on the storage pegs.
If the stocking is too long, the spool wouldn't sit right.
Found out it was the 'blower' for our heater unwinding the thread off the spools! In the winter when it is running, I have a piece of posterboard I clamp around the thread platform to make a windshield...not one unwound thread since!
      Summer time it wasn't necessary.

I think the stocking might work for us. Where can we get them?

        Thanks!

Hey, Lisa, I use a ghost terd or packing peanut pushed up inside the little spool. It keeps it solid and the thread stays wound up. I don't use the small spools very often but Mike Malmin at ProTek gave me the hint and it works for me.
          Best wishes.

I don't have an Amaya but if MelcoMart (and other thread companies) sell 1000m spools, why wasn't the machine designed to accept this? Poor engineering! I guess I'll stick with my EMT which doesn't require me to buy adapters to use thread.
