• Looking for a design of a Maine-Anjou

Hello:

Does anyone have or know where I can get a Design (large for jacket backs) of a breed of cattle called Maine-Anjou?

Thanks in advance for any help you can give.

The nice thing about doing animal designs is that sometimes you do not necessarily need to find the specific breed .... you just have to find something close and then use the appropriate colors.

In the case of the Maine-Anjou cattle, they are a heavier muscled breed, polled [no horns] and the colors generally will be a dark redish-brown with amounts of white on legs and lower body or a solid black. Find out from the breeder that you will be doing the work for, what color his cattle tend to be and then search the various design sites for cattle designs [seeking the look of the Maine-Anjou, not necessarily the color].

Good luck

Bob:

Thank you for your reply.

I have tried to explain to the customer that we can use something close and tweek it to meet his needs. He does not like anything I have shown him. He is stating that the Main-Anjou cattle have a curve to their backs where as most breeds do not. I have done some research and seen what he is referring to. He then mentioned to me that he was at a big cattle show and the Embroiderers there had what he was talking about. I then explained that they had probably had something digitized.

Anyway, I thought I would ask the group to see if anyone had a design of this specific type of cow.

Never would have thought that Cattle people could be more difficult then Horse people.

Thanks again!

Cattle more difficult than Horse people? Pshaw....try CAT people!
Anyone that spends $1000's on their 'pets' will NOT accept a 'generic' animal...dog, cat, bird...it's GOT to be the exact breed.
And this is the problem-they go to the show, see a jacket for $250 with a full back embroidered picture-and figure that 'we' (their 'at home' sew shop) can do it for half the price. Then we scramble to find the exact image and without paying $150 or more to get it digitized-have nothing but 'generic' to offer. It ends up being one of those 'I'm sorry, but without having the exact image to digitize, and having to charge you to digitize it-I cannot supply that for you' jobs.
And the next words out of their mouths...."oh, don't worry, if you don't charge me the digitizing I can get you LOTS of orders for this...all my _______(fill in the blank-beagle, Shitzou, persian, mini shetland, hairless dauchsand, '58 corvette, 71 charger) friends will order LOTS of them....
and any shop that DID pay to get it digitized is NOT going to pass that design along...)
