I need some advice, please. Have an FFA logo using 4-partition fill stitch. It is not covering the fabric as well as I want and I cannot find the answer in design Shop. It has a density of 3, no underlay. The uprights on the letters look OK but the cross members on the Fs and A look skimpy. What should I do?

What's a 4 partition fill stitch?
On the fill stitch issue in general... we had an issue where a logo we did wasn't covering especially well, and Ron V. (I think it was Ron) told us to try putting tear away on top of the fabric in addtion to the backing on the bottom. The tear away provided a smooth enough surface for the stitching to cover great - and look great too. Never would have thought of doing that.
Wouldn't underlay help too?John Yaglenski

John,
Create a fill pattern and then go into properties. Then click on the Fill/View Select tab and it shows all the fills (Fill 1-18 or whaterver it is). If you start selecting different ones and look at the properties you will notice each different fill changes the # of partitions and/or the stitch length and density. They all effect the look of your fill as well as the coverage. I do most of my fills in 8 partitions cause thats the look I like but it does depend on what you are putting it on as well as the size of the fill you are working with. For instance if you are doing a large fill area you may want longer stitches to make less total stitches. I have found with fills you just have to play with different settings to find out the look you are happy with.
Hope this helps Aaron Sargent
Pegboard
541-727-1440
