  • Machine detached from system ?!

    Hello,
I'm in the middle of a large back design, all is going well then machine stops and I get 'Cluster invalid, master machine detached from system.'
Please tell me what to do and is design ruined ?
As always, thanks for the fantastic help !

    Christy:

You need to call Melco on this one. All I can say is this happened to us when we first got our Amaya and we ended up having to replace the main board in it. It would sew fine and then wham all the sudden the machine would detach and the arms would go crazy...

    Call Melco!

This happens to me quite a bit, haven't lost a thing yet. I was able to write down the stitch number it was on approx. Then I would turn off my machines, reboot computer and when you go back into OS go to settings - Move - go down to stitch number and input the stitch number until you get to the exact one you were at (and you can even go back a few to be safe) the needlecase will move to that stitch use the laser also as a guide. You can do this "Move" and Stitch Number as many times until you see it is on where you need it. And hit Start button.

I agree with Debbie - with once caveat. You had to start sewing the design with the machine centered within the hoop. If you moved it from the center and then started sewing, you will need to try to guesstimate where your start location was. I learned that the hard way.

I called Melco, he walked me through a couple of things then said it sounded like it got seperated from the ethernet for a second. Backed up the stitch and sewed the rest out beautifully ! Thank You for all the support !

Just an FYI if you do the above things (note the stitch number and so on) then restart the machine
and OS if needed then when the design reloads there is a item in the Tools drop down menu you'll find "Move to last origin" which will reposition the hoop at the last coordinates that you moved it to. So things to remember, If this happens , never take the item out of the hoop, write down the stitch number and what we have done a few time to be confident is take a pice of frosted scotch tape and put it on the deisng at the point it was sewing, hold down the laser button and use a pen to mark a dot at the pint that the laser is marking, then when all is done and done right the laser should hit that mark at the exact same spot. This way you know the return to origin worked, if your comfortable with the lineup. peel the tape off and hit start. for us we always back it up around 2o to 25 stitches to make sure we have a good overlap
sinc ehtere are no tie ins or tie offs at the stopping point. Good Luck.

Ron...that is one of the 'slap myself in the forehead' great ideas!
I never even thought of the scotch tape trick.
That will solve a few problems!
We haven't had the machine itself stop in the middle of a sewout yet, maybe once? But I don't remember-but we've had a lot of power problems. Now I will be ready for it!
              Thanks-great suggestion!
