Ok, I have a order for embroidery on 20 safety vests. These are the kind that are a nylon type mesh fabric. The mesh holes are about 3mm in size so I thought, in order to get nice even stitching and not break threads, I would create a patch with the lettering and sew the patch on.
Has anyone ever sewn straight on this type of fabric successfully and how did you do it?
If not should and I go the patch route, should I embroider the lettering on the fabric for the patch, then applique the patch on the vest finishing it with a column stitch around the edge. This will be a round patch. My other thought would be to cut out the fabric, applique it on then do the embroidery. Not sure what would work best.
Suggestions? By the way I have not appliqued before so please be basic.
Thanks a bunch
