Alphabet Editor

[Monograms N More]

While on the cruise I got a quick lesson in adding alphabets in the Alphabet Editor. I put my alpha in and now my letters all have a new upside down v stitch away from the lettering.
Could someone please tell me what I did wrong or how I can fix it.
