Both "Prince" (XT) & "Princess" (Non-XT) issue

This has never happened. Last night when I turned off both machines I got an error on the screen that "OS has encountered a problem and needs to close". No big deal. Well this morning when I open OS and turn the machines on, I expect to see the last thing I stitched yesterday. And they are there...but the color pallette is no where near the colors I was using!
All of the colors are mixed up and changed to different colors.
This is a first. Should I be concerned?
I will do my first stitch outs this morning on scrap, just in case.
Like I have time for this!
