  • TIp on satin line looping

I know my presser foot is out of whack-can't get it down far enough to even touch a sweatshirt...so that might explain some of my 'looping' when it starts sewing a satin 'line'. I am sewing now with the raised needle plate so I get some adjustment for presser foot until Brian can come up and fix it.

Seems that any 'straight' line would start with a 'centerline' that wouldn't catch for the first inch or so, leaving big loops hanging out that wouldn't get covered. As I watched it sew out 4 lines going around a box-realized the 2,3,4 lines didn't get the looping-because the thread was already tied down so to speak as it moved from one to the other. So I moved the 'start' point of the first line 1/2" from the normal start-and now it ties down, backs up, then starts the line and not one missed loop! Just thought I'd pass this on-if you are getting looping in the 'centerline' on satin columns (real narrow ones-8-15 points) try moving your 'start' point and see what happens.
Working...
