7-in-1 Fast Frames

I have recently purchased the 7-in-1 Fast Frames from MelcoMart. I am experiencing many thread breaks using the 6" Radius Hat frame. What am I doing wrong. I'm using the sticky backing, I've adjusted to a slower speed, and I mean slower. I've tried different setting on the Acti-Feed from Auto to Standard settings. I've raised and lowered the pressure foot.
I thought these were suppose to help in making production faster. How is that possible if I have to keep re-threading the needles. Is there something that I'm missing, some settings that I'm not doing.
For the heck-of-it, I hooped up a cap on a 15cm round hoop and ran the same design with out changing any settings, and it ran all the way through with no problems.

We have problems with the sticky backing also, we get adhesive build up on the hook and that leads to more problems, we began spraying the hook area at start of shift with silicone and that has eased the problems, we still need to clean the machine once every two weeks. Do not spray silicone anywhere above the needle plate, if any gets on the tension rollers you'll have more problems.

We run 4 XT's in 10hr shifts.

Thank you, but I don't think that's the problems. I mean I just got it brand new out of the box and from the first time I used it, I had all the problems. So there couldn't be a build-up on the hook. When doing backs or sides of caps (just small lettering) what settings should I be using (Acti-feed, speed, etc.)?
I've tried some of the pocket fast frames and had no problems.

We used our fast frames for about 2 years, then gave up on them-limited for what we wanted-bought the speed frame instead.
Problems we noticed....as Ernest points out-adhesive buildup was a pain, more cleaning needed.
We did find that the frames very easily worked loose-the holddown cap has to be TIGHT. Any movement at all when sewing and that hoop/plate is going sideways-causing thread breaks.
If the breaks are happening in the same spot everytime-check to see if the frame is sitting 'on' your 'nose' and not slightly above it. If it is touching, then it may be lifting 'up' when the inner edge of the frame runs up the threadplate-the 'yellow' speed frames are not measured properly-if your image is within the 'line' but too close to it-the frame rides up the needle plate and pulls the material away from the needle. Distortion or thread break instantly.
Otherwise you shouldn't be running into problems...not if it sews out fine on a regular hoop. Is the hat itself too loose or wrinkling up on the backing? If that hat material moves-as it sews, same effect occurs. We never did hats with it-couldn't get the adhesive to hold it down tight.

Thank you for the info, we're new at the embroidery industry and I don't want to have to worry about build up on the machine. Are there fast frames or quick frames that don't use sticky backing that any one would recomend?

We've only had our machine for 1 month.

The clamping systems do not use sticky backing and are easier to use than the fastframes. They are not cheap though [img]smile.gif[/img]

What clamping system does anyone recommend? The Slim Line, ITCS, are there any others? Which are the better of these 2 systems? I've priced both and I know how expesive they are but if it's worth the money, that's not a problem.
