  • thread wrapping around needle

    Good Morning all,
I have a new EMT 16 PLUS and the thread keeps getting wrapped around the needle and then shredding. I have tried lowering and raising the presser foot, loosening and tightening the bobbin and adding and taking away backings.

What can I do to stop this?
    Thanks

I have never had that happen...sounds frustrating!

Have you checked the thread feed in settings?

How is the humidity where you are? Lack of humidity leads to static, which leads to an amazing amount of problems.

have you checked the bobbin case? This was my recent fight. Multiple problems with a new bobbin case because it had the tiniest little sharp point smaller than a grain of sand on the pigtail.

Is your bobbin tension at the right setting? Have you tried a new bobbin?

Is your hook gapped and timed correctly?

    Is the needle faced correctly?

I know I know -- 500 questions about the bobbin when the top thread is the problem. I find that I usually have a bobbin problem with my top thread is acting up, and vise versa.

Is this happening on every needle or just one? If only one, I would change needles.
