How necessary is it to have business insurance if you are a home based operation? I am not doing all that much business now that I am on social security but still have a lot of thread, backing, clothing and other supplies in my basement. A $500. premium each year with Hartford just seems a bit steep.
    THANKS,

You can either give Hartford $500 year or eat $25k if something happens. I pay around $350 extra each year for my business insurance. It's just one of those expenses you just have to have. If you lease your machine, I'm pretty sure there is wording in there you must have insurance of some type

I just priced a business owners policy with United somehting or other -- on my other system. For $25k a year of property and the liability insurances, it was $382.
