  • Designshop v9 and so compatability with Windows 10?

Anyone know if they are compatible with Windows 10? Was going to do the free upgrade to Windows 10 but don't know if I should don't want to run into compatability issues.

I updated one computer to Windows 10. I have DS Version 9 and it did some really weird things. If I had it to do over again I would not have updated that computer to Windows 10.

Marcelle, it is a fairly easy process to go back to your original Windows. I upgraded; did not like the Windows 10, went back to Windows 7. Very happy that I did.

I actually like Windows 10 better than 8 because it seems more like Windows XP. Very easy to use. Right now I am just using my Windows 7 computer for digitizing instead. The weird thing is that designs I digitized in Windows 10 must be copied and pasted to a new file on the other computer in order to get the kinks out of it.

Mine was an update from 8 to 10. Does the roll back still work to go back to 8?

        Thanks for the information.

My understanding is that you can easily go back to whatever earlier version you were on. I am not sure if you could choose to go to other versions.

Loaded Windows 10, the only issue I have so far is loading the design from Design shop to the Amaya OS.
Example from design shop - File - Machine - load Design. Then normally the machines will come up in the OS and you pick which ones to load. That prompt does not come up now....it will error out.

So now I have to save the design to the hard drive, then from Amaya OS click on File, Load Design then pick the file on the hard drive.

I highly recommend making a complete backup of your hard drive before upgrading to Windows 10.
I use macrium reflect, you must use it with a USB backup drive and Must make a bootable USB or DVD disk. It's FREE and you make the bootable disk within the program. You can check it out on youtube as well. FREE FREE FREE been using it for years.

I downloaded the free upgrade and have discovered that sometimes when I save a design the screen goes black! Nothing.....I see my mouse arrrow, I can hear that DS is still there and in digitizing mode. So I then CTRL ALT DELETE and sign out and back in again. DS has shut down so I open again and my design is there with the changes. This is quite irritating but I'm apprehensive about going back to Windows7.
              Not sure what to do......
