  • picking the mighty hoop locks up machine

Help~help~help! I loaded in the 28 numbers so the mighty hoop 5.5 would show up in my list of hoops and it loaded fine. But, when I pick that hoop and THEN try to load a design windows gives me the dreaded message that it has encountered a problem and must close. As long as a different hoop is selected I can start up my machine, pick a design and start it going. But, now (since the mighty hoop was selected when it crashed) I can't even get the OS to load after turning the computer on without it crashing again. Is there a way to prevent a design from loading after first turning on the OS? I just need to pick a different hoop so the design can load. I need to get a job done asap! Debbie in Indiana

Yes! Find your "Jobs" folder and delete it.
It's under your Melco folder, then it might be under the System folder. It will allow you to start AOS. Then AOS will recreate the Jobs folder for next time. This is an invaluable tip I got from Melco.

Thanks, MJ!! That did allow me to go into the OS long enough to change back to an amaya hoop but here is what else I had to do (for anyone out there who has this problem). Deleting the job folder did keep the system from crashing initially but loading ANY design caused it to crash again as long as the mighty hoop is up. What did work was to open the OS and immediately change the hoop to any normal round Amaya hoop...but even after doing that I still couldn’t load a design without it crashing. So after I brought up the round standard hoop and it crashed, I started the computer again, then started the machine and since it opened with an Amaya hoop up (not a mighty hoop) I was then able to load the design that I needed for the jackets and THEN changed to the Mighty Hoop. So, here is the work-around for me; if I need to change the design, I will have to select an Amaya hoop and then load the design. Also, when I shut down the OS at the end of the day, I will need to make sure the Mighty Hoop is not selected before closing the OS. Bottom line is; I can NEVER start the machine with a mighty hoop selected.
Got my jackets done and can now move on to normal hoop stuff...yea!! THANKS AGAIN!

        OK, good.
Are you sure you have the settings correct for the Magic Hoop? You shouldn't be having those problems.
I didn't even enter all the numbers to set up all my Magic Hoops. I think it was Jerome who sent me the hoop system file where he had all the specs in there already for all the Magic Hoops.

I have tried to put the 5x5 Mighty Hoop into the Ver 9 Os, checked all the numbers three times but have a square with a coat hanger shape sticking out on the top left and bottom right of the hoop. Anyone else have this problem and know what may be wrong?

Download the hoop.mdb file ed gave to hoopmasters for all Amaya users.
you will not have these issues.

You only have to have a "-" sign in the wrong place once and you will have a mess.

I have downloaded the file and entered it correctly 3 times. Still have a square with two triangles hanging from it. I think I will try calling Hoop Master and see if they have run into this before.
I have ver 7 and ver 10 on the computer. would that have anything to do with it?

Everything is ok now. Thank you for offering your help, Jerome. Evidently there were two hoops by the same name in my file, one right and one wrong, deleted the bad one and I now have a square Mighty Hoop.
